I checked edmunds.com, and their page doesn't list power steering as a standard accessory for the CX or DX hatch or coupe. It does list it under the other models, including the DX sedan. Check the link below for each model.
The next dude down (ksib) may have had a DX since he's so sure, but it was probably an option on the car he had.
It is possible to install power steering, but I don't see how it would be worth the cost to put in power steering. It's much more common to convert power to manual steering in order to save weight.

Yeah, it would make it easier to steer at low speeds, but imagine the forearms you're working up! :)

In the 96-2000 civic models your CX is the only model without power steering. Even the DX hatch models have it.You can add this to your car by changing the rack and pinion, and obtaining all of the lines, pump, and belt. This stuff could come off of any 1996-2000 model.
What kind of station wagon-type vehicle would you recommend?
It should cost about $50 for the rack, $45 for the pump, and no more than $100 for all of the lines and reservoir. Installation will require removal of the tie rod ends and you will need to realign the front of the car $40.
Estimate of total: $235 + labor.
Help I need to to ask a auto mechanic a question?
Labor may cost easy up to $250 @ $45-50/hour.
It can be done if you are mechanically inclined. I actually did the reverse of what you did. I removed all of the power steering and swapped in a manual rack in my 1994 integra. But I am crazy.
Hope it helps,

how to disable the car alarm on a 1994 chrysler concord?
It's possible to convert it but probably not worth the expense on a car that old. Most small cars without power steering are still very easy to drive. If you go with the narrowest tire that will still fit on the rim, that will reduce the footprint of your tire and make it easier to steer. Wide tires on a car that small look silly and give your arms a workout. Make sure your tires are fully inflated. You need about 35 psi. On a car that light, you could have 20 psi or less and they would still look fine.Should of the the 92-95 hb ex or si they have power steering.
