I want to swap manual seats to power seats in my BMW?

Question:
I have an 82 528e with manal seats and no wiring for the power seat buttons on the console. I would also swap the console so the buttons would exist. Would it be possible to add wiring on my 82? I could take the harness from the new 85 BMW but am not sure how difficult it wouldl be to remove or install into my 82.

I have seen almost every option retrofitted on the E30 3-series. Your slightly older 5-series could be as easy to upgrade. Pull up the carpet and trace the wires to the junction blocks under the dash and see how they are terminated. Check the other car for the same area in the block. Test for power and check the fusebox to see if it needs a fuse. The sub harness should be swapable. Good luck with your Frankenbimmer.
