I'm thinking about getting a 96 Trans Am 5.7 V8. At the time, the car surveys were raving about how reliable and well-made these cars were. Has that translated into good longevity? Or would a ten-year old Trans Am fall apart on me like a lasagna?

One main thing to look out for is the radiator, for some reason some of the T/A's will spring a leak in the side tanks. It can be temp. patched with some epoxy, but it is better to replace or rebuild the radiator.

If it was driven by a little old lady, it should be fine. But mostly they were driven hard by folks with heavy feet. Unless it's pristine, steer clear!Most of them need a complete rebuild.Lasagna.
