Renault megane cabriolet?

Question:
i have a 06 renault megane cabriolet ,i am not sure if there is something wrong with the seats :-
when u put the seats forward to get into the back seats you have to put the seat upright and fully back before you can lock it and move it forward again .if you dont it doesnt click locked and just moves back n forward .

I dont have a megane but i do have a peugeot 206cc. If i bend my seat forward to let people in the back i do have to make sure the seat is upright before it locks into position. Although i dont have to bend it fully back. I think it has something to do with the safety of the car.
