Problem with stock radio on 2005 Pontiac Sunfire?

Question:
My stock radio on my 2005 Pontiac Sunfire stopped illuminating the display (where it shows the time/radio station/CD track/etc) so I have absolutely no idea what time it is, what I'm listening to, or where my EQ is at. Is this a defect or something I can fix myself without having to take my car in? Things like this shouldn't be happening to cars that are only 2 years old.

It should be under warranty, take it in for a replacement, there's nothing you can do with it.
