1987 305ci 4bbl carb. I have a single black wire that has been extended with a blue wire, i comes up near the alternator with plenty of slack, i cant find where it connects to, Any ideas?

It sounds like it might be a ground wire - someone may have had an extra piece of equipment hooked up (NOS or something) and took it out.As long as the car runs, I would just wrap some electrical tape around it and ignore it.

check the driver side head, there should be a single wire to your temp light. If your really worried about it, take a pic of the connector and post it in the boards on Thirdgen.org.I've had great luck finding anything I needed to know about my 87 Camaro
