If you mean the sixth generation Galant VR-4 (a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder) from 1988-1993 then yes, they're basically the same engine -- a 4G63T 16v turbo, and it'd be a straightforward swap.

There are, however, two other VR-4s by Mitsubishi which won't fit. The 3.0 V6 twin turbo (6G72TT) in the 3000GT/GTO, and the seventh/eighth generations of the Galant, which both used an aluminium block V6 twin turbo (the 2.0 6A12TT and the 2.5 6A13TT). I presume you didn't mean any of them.

i agree with the guy about the galant vr4 engine but i think the question posting person is refering to the vr4 engine from a 3000gt witch i think is not posible.. since the evo engine is hard to work on as it is its so tight and cramp.
