Your Wagoneer should have Dana44s front and rear and be lug 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern, these axles are commonly found under half ton trucks.

I have a 1981 Jeep Wagoneer Custom. There were two axle options for the Wagoneer that year. With Four with drive and without. Your SJ has the six lug bolt pattern that more than likely has a DANA 44 and a NP 208 or 228 transfer case. Depending on if you have Quadratrac. Mine has the NP 208 transfer case with manual hubs.If you need help with your FSJ, email me and I can help you as much as I can. I own just about all of the factory manuals and dealer paperwork available. I also have factory hard copy schematics and parts books, which many as still available from Chrysler. Remember the SJ's were made up until 1991. Even the body panels are interchangeable. The wiring will be slightly different. The 1981 FSJ's have a unique wiring harness in the tailgate and some other accessories that are not used on other models.
