the fuel pressure has to be atleast 80psi or it wont fire. check the fuel pump.

without knowing the year of the vehicle it's difficult to say. However if it has a distributor then most likely it's the distributor module. This is located inside the distributor. Remove the distributor cap...then the rotor...you will see a little black box with wires connected to either side. You can remove this and take it to your local parts store and have it tested. Most likely this is the problem.classic car restoration and getting 2 door into 4 door?

It sounds like you have a no spark condition (coil,module,cap,orrotor) This engine is a throttle body injected engine. You ought to be able to see fuel squirting from the injectors with the air cleaner off and with the engine cranking. This style of fuel injection needs about 12 psi of pressure to run.what type and where are the spark plugs on a 1999 crown vic??
there is an ignition control module($75) and coil($57), these will more than likely cause your no spark problem.. it seems you have gone the gauntlet. i hate electrical problems because you need patience and a voltmeter. and i just want to get it goin'. good luck.Why some people wanna race with my Nissan Skyline eventhough the finally lose?
you seem to have a ignition problem..........hei distributor,s are notorious for shorting down through the rotor.........remove the rotor.....see if it has a burn spot on the bottom in the center.....if in doubt...replace it......if still nothing....check ignition module,dist. pick up coil........if your distributor has a vacuum advance unit ...check pickup coil connecting wires.What Kind of Car is This? first check for short in the throttle body wiring harness look where it exits the carb. Check all of these wires. A short here shuts down the computer. If no short then check your coil, may need replacing.Where can I find relacement car parts for a 1985 Caprice Classic?
distributor no good ,trust meReplace the rotor and distributor. That should fix your problem. I have a 1992 Pickup with a 350 TBI, the same as yours. I had the same problem a few years ago. One way to check your fuel pump is to just turn the key to the "ON" position and listen for a hum underneath your pickup coming from the gas tank. If you don't hear anything, then your fuel pump may be crapped out.

pull one of the spark plug boots and stick a screwdriver in it and hold it close to something metal under the hood. Now while you or someone else is holding it turn the engin over, if you don't see a spark the it is either the coil or the distributor. From the way you make it sound you are not getting any spark. Another way to do that is pull the boot and stick another spark plug in it, this is easier to do than use the screwdriver. You want to make sure that you are in a dimly lit place so that you will be able to see the spark.Please give more info.
