i like standard tranny more.I've change to many automatic.so i like standard more, but it depends on how much you drive to.i put 120.miles a day so automatic just can't hang.it really depends on how hard you drive.if you drive hard then i would go with standard...it will be your jeep,so get what you really want...have fun with it...I have a 2000Honda Accord...When should I change my oil?
Unless you are going to be doing a lot of off-road driving, I would go with the auto for the convenience and the resale. Plus it leaves that waving hand free!Idling Camaro gas consumption?
I liked tranny automatic, I have one scorrt ford automatic, live in mexico. If you're planning on doing any off-roading or driving in adverse conditions (snow, ice, sand or in mountainous terrain), get the manual. If you are only planning on driving it around town, an automatic is easier with which to deal.
What benefits do Toyota dealers get from the STAR program?
Automatic has better warranty coverage. It's weird. I'd stay away from the standard. The throwout bearing just failed in mine before the clutch disk did and Jeep isn't doing anything about "incidental damage" meaning everything else that it took out in it's path.99 Pontiac Grand Am groans when making turns?
Honestly, I feel like an idiot 2 years later having bought a jeep in the first place. Do some research before you buy any Chrysler product right now. They aren't honoring their warranty which would be okay if they weren't still building such bad cars. This was my third and last jeep. I got this one because I hate driving anything else but I've really been let down.
How do I get the steering wheel off my 91 Chevy Silverado? The puller doesn't budge it.?
*****Oh, and I DON'T RIDE THE CLUTCH. The guy below is out of line assuming that he diagnosed that problem.
Audi A3? Volkswagen Golf? Which one is better?
Anyhow, the clutch didn't go out. R E A D.
I work at Toledo Jeep Wrangler assembly and I would get the manual,I have a 2001 with a manual and love it.The manual gives you more control over the power, the only thing is DO NOT RIDE THE CLUTCH!It really bothers me when people complain about thier clutch going out but they ride them, when you back up take your foot completly off the clutch. Are you going to order it?We are working 6 sometimes 7 days a week,10 hour days 2 shifts to keep up with demand, heard that Rubicon orders are 2 months behind. Also e-mail me and I will get you a number for a employee discount.Hey,Jeepnuk i'm just trying to sell Jeep's since I work there. This offer is good for anybody that is gonig to buy a Jeep.I get 6 discount numbers and have given out 3 on this website.
1999 Chevy Silverado Sitckers And Emblems?
Depends on what you're going to use it for. If you bought it for city driving and mild off-road, go with the auto. If you're planning on hard core off-roading, I'd go with the manual tranny. I think you have more "control" of things with a manual. What is the part number of a/c relay in mazda protege 2001 1.6L?
warranty is for 30.000 miles. go for manual, the 6 speed is greatI'm interested in buying a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Good choice or no?
My '04 Rubicon has an auto in it and I can say it is rather capable off road. I can also say that my '91 YJ had a 5 speed and it was capable off road as well. The only problem I foresee is that it is an '07. My Rubi has 2 computers. Your Rubi will have about 20. Computers don't seem to like mud, dust, or water too much (all things you encounter off-road. I have to say that there are some things I like about the '07 (like the swaybar disconnect), but I prefer my '04!What does NSX stand for from the Honda/Acura NSX?

Currently the 07 lineup is registering ALOT of first year growing pains. I'd recommend waiting for the 08's or a lightly used 06.
As for the tranny issue it comes down to personal preference. The transmissions themselves are just fine and will provide years of service.
Towing with a 2004 explorer v6?
The problem is that it's attached to a new motor, and a new chassis and all the bugs haven't been worked out yet. Luckily Chrysler doesn't pay first year owners to be product testers so the cost of fixing all the problems at assembly is not passed on to consumers.
What is the best model for the saabs?
automatic is just fine for wheeling. it is actually alot easier to go off road in a n automatic. you don't have as much control in hill descent but when climbing you only need to feet as compared to a standard where it would be nice to have three sometimes i have wheeld both ways i stick by standard transmissions but other people swear by auto it is your preferenceDo you love your bimmer and why?
Manual, manual, manual, if you dont get a manual you shouldn't be getting a jeep. And what are you going to be doing to it that you might have to change out the transmission at 25k, even if you dont keep up with routine maintenance you should get at least triple that.I would like to make a custom car body?
I have one with an auto and a brand new one with a 6 speed and personally I like the 6 speed. If you are a die hard off-roader, a standard is preferred and will perform better. Since you want a Rubicon (I have one), you are probably wanting to do some serious off-roading.
How much will it cost to finance the Nissan Altima 2007?
If you are only worried about reliability, it really is inconsequential because both have the same amount of chance of breaking down. It is all dependent on the use, the build and other such variables. I honestly don't think "reliability" is an issue with which one you pick over the other.
Mazda wont run right i cant finger it out?
I had both transmissions on the two different Wranglers I've owned and I like them both. After having both, I miss the automatic for my city driving but when I'm off-roading, I definitely don't miss it one iota!
