94 Jeep Cherokee Transmission Fluid Leak?

Question:
My 94 Jeep Cherokee has a transmission fluid leak. Per the dealer it will cost $995 to replace the extension housing, which is about what the Jeep is worth. I'm wondering how long I can drive the Jeep with the leak... is it something where I can watch the fluid levels and keep it filled? I don't think it is a bad leak, and would like to get another year out of this vehicle before getting something new.

Need help locating the turn signal flasher and or switch on 95 contour?

Pretty common on jeeps. If it's leaking in the front of the tranny. Foward pump seal. You could pull it yourself if you have the mechanical ability and fix it. Just bolts on front of transmission with about 5-6 bolts. Actually more labor than know how.
