Speed is money. You could goof with Nitrous but eventually you will break something like you engine or drivtrain. To set up your car to beat a viper in a drag race i would say another 10 to 20 thousand. That would include engine trans differential cage and suspension work. But now you have a race car that will not be as reliable. If you want to save yourself time, trade in the Mustang and buy a used Z06 (505hp) because you will be close to that money mark anyhow with modifications and it will beat a Viper.I put about $5000 into an 02 Silverado, and I promise you a Viper wants no part of it in a 1/4 mile drag race. There's a fellow around these parts with an 06 GT 'vert putting down 430hp to the wheels and 409 ft lbs of torque with a just supercharger and a good dyno tune, stock bottom end, heads, cams, and all. Get into the motor and he may easily put down 500+hp... so i'd say if you've got the money you can make a shoebox beat a viper.

It is possible if you get the 5.4 liter V8 in your mustang. If you have the cash you can easily enhace it to the point where you are beating the Viper's V10. The Ford GT has the 5.4 in it and it runs circles around the Viper. Money is everything though.Is the pontiac trans am on display?
With a $5,000 RouscCharger you get a extra 113 horsepower. A 65mm Grantinelli Throttle body you get 11 horsepower. A K& N air filter system will give you 15 horsepower. Recomend getting pigger pipes and headers. Nitrous if wanted and then superchips your computer to get noticable Hp gains. Body styling kits can enhance the downforce on your car and give you more traction. You can pump a ton of horespower into you car for four grand but if you're talking drags you can hope to spend a whole lot more. If you want to try to beat a viper in a drag, don't expect to be street legao or hope to win. Whatever amount of money you pump into your stang will probably have been jammed down the throat fo that viper.Is it still possible to buy a new 2006 Volvo S80? The 2007's are butt ugly?
Maybe a couple years ago. In 2003 the Viper had 500 HP, but the 2008 has 600 HP. This car excedes the Ford GT and the Z06. The Z06 top speed is 198, Ford GT is 205, the Viper 212. If you want a street legal car, I can't see it happening, but if you don't mind having a drag racer then yeah.why there is no toyota previa in the u.s.?

I've seen turbo/supercharged mustangs dyno at 1200RWHP. I think that will be plenty enough to beat any stock viper.
