Sounds like your oil pump blew out, without the pump your oil dipstick will read full but oil is not getting to the engine to lubricate the parts. Or maybe since your oil was so dirty, your oil filter could be completely glogged and therefore no oil could get through. Sounds like you dont know the basics of car care maintenance. Get an oil and filter change every 3000 miles. Live and Learn....what kind of axles should i use in a northstar fiero??
i own a repair shop,and probably what happened to it was the oil pump went out on it or the oil filter got stopped up,and collapsed on it,either way it cut off your oil supply,and probably ruined your engine, this engine may not be worth even trying to save ,but you can tear it down to see if you want to but id try turning it over by hand and see if it will move,,i have seen these do this before though and in most cases you have to get another engine,if you can turn it by hand there's a chance the oil pressure switch may have shut the engine down and saved it,good luck with it i hope this help,s.The oil light indicates a low oil pressure problem. Due to excessive amount of dirt in the oil, the oil filter is clogged and no enough oil going in the system and may caused the crankshaft, pistons, etc to seized due to lack of lubrication. Check oil condition if no metals or aluminum debris are present. If not, try to change new oil and filter, maybe you can still ran the engine.
