You need to read what the extended warranty covers before you sign up for one. Mine has bound me to have my car serviced where I bought it from. I am also bound to have it serviced every 6 months (my car was not new when I bought it but it had low kilometres). In the event of a large claimon the warranty, your car may be in the workshop for an extended period of time. Just read all the fine print before you sign up for anything.
i mechanic for a living,,read over the warranty papers real good before you purchase any one of these,,make sure its going to cover the things you,ll need covered,,some of the extended warranty's don't cover what some people think they do,,then when their car breaks down,,they think its covered,,when its really not,,so read it real good,,id go for the 80k one at the least,,if you plan on keeping it ,but read it real good,,i do some repair work for some of the car lots around here that sell the extended warranty,s..and they don't always cover the things that need to be covered,,good luck i hope this help,s.

It depends on the year of the car is it new or used? Subarus are very dependable, reliable ane well engineered. If it's used I might consider it depending on how the previous owner drove it. If it's new just keep the maintainence up and it will take of it's self.i wouldn't bother. both subaru's i've owned, as well as ones friends have owned, were very reliable when coupled with responsible ownership and maintenance.
I think it's a waste of money. stick with the factory warranty.
