- Fuel Pumps die every 4-5 years depending on use. Running the tank to E before a fillup adds stress to the pump and increases the possibility of failure.
-The original DexCool (orange) coolant was corrosive. Its messed up the coolant intake connection on the intake manifold. the pot metal fitting usually corrodes and causes a leak.
-DexCool also contributed to head gasket leaks. Usually leaks are found at the rear of the block.

If you know the previous owner(s) & how the vehicle was driven, maintained etc & can easily afford the high cost of stopping at gas stations frequently then the price may not be too high, but remember this truck is going on 8 years old & with that amount of mileage on it means it's highly likely you'll be investing moderate to serious cash in it for repairs likely sooner than later. I'd really do my homework on this truck before buying, check the VIN # & run a check for damage/accidents...recalls from the manufacturer that were or were not performed, ask the owner for copies of all maintenance records & have the vehicle checked over from top to bottom..compression test, look for sludge in the engine, ask if it was used for a lot of towing, too much urban driving can age a tranny/engine far faster than highway mileage..What's the servicing cost for Porsche Boxster?

Transmissions are CRAP. But it probably has had 1 or two rebuilts put in it already. CHECK the transmission. FLuid dark or burnt smelling. Service every 40k miles and add bg lube or lucas additive. Fuel pumps will go out often if ran below 1/4 tank often but so will all of them in these years and not that expensive to maintain so wouldnt worry too much. Have differential fluids changed every 25k miles. more often if you use to put a boat into water. These will run along time with good service. 250k no problems. $5k is right in line money wise if it is NICE and well serviced.More Questions & Answers ...
