My Tires!?

Question:
If I put slightly bigger tires on my Toyota Celica, will I have to make any other adjustments?

It depends on what you mean by "bigger" - if the total diameter is greater than before, the speedo will be incorrect - you will actually be going slightly faster than it indicates (if it's only a slight difference, you'll probably be OK.)

If you're looking for a wider tyre, you should be fine - you will simply need a lower aspect-ratio tyre. (The aspect ratio means that the sidewall's height is that percentage of the tyre's width. For example, take a tyre size of 195/60R16 - the sidewall height is 60% of the tread width, in this case 195mm. A replacement could be a 225/55R16, since the tyre is wider, but the sidewall height is a smaller percentage of that width.) Any good tyre place can give you the acceptable sizes that won't change you speedo too much, in a range of widths.

By slightly bigger tires did you mean you also stepped up the size of your wheels? If you are just "Plus Sizing" by getting bigger wheels and What appears to be a larger tire then no, your speedo should not change. It takes quite a big step up in tires to actually get your speedo to be off by a few MPH. When you Plus Size you are actually staying within the OE orverall diamater by only about a half inch to an inch and a half. Since you have a Toyota Celica I would have to say that even the biggest tire that you put on there will not change your speedo. You will be totally fine.
