For me..both of these cars are made in America with a reliability and an American made quality..However, if both cars are V6: I'm looking at economy; average gasoline now is $2.65-$2.80 in some states ( Honda with a 3.0 litre compare to Maxima with a 3.5 litre) the 3.0 litre Honda V6 comes with I-Vtec-E; Maxima DOHC with i-Tech engine. Both are leathers; Sunroof; rear spoiler; mac-rims; 4wd ABS with disc brakes. Not far from taking off 0-65 mph; the total price range different is $4,500-$6,000 depends on what you add on: Navigation; DVD player; subwoofer ( both offered with this accessories at extra costs ); now is iPod, bluetooth..etc..the total price to out the door keep adding up. Its the price range and economy that you're comparing with; both are highly quality with a trusted dependability.

If the question was '07 Altima or '07 accord than answers would be different. Those cars actually in the same class/range. However the Maxima is pitted against a higher teir of cars, aimed more at a luxury market. It has the new CVT transmission this year. If I was in your shoes I wouyld opt for an '06 Maxima with the 6 speed manual trans. Either way maxima over accord FTW.
