they are plugs for the smog system. Your truck does not have the air sensors, but they were common on most models. If you pull them, they will leak exhaust and sound like crapDo think 1998 hyundai elantra are good cars?

They are the Air Return pipes that go to the EGR valve. This was and is still on cars today . What they did was a pipe (4 of them) goes into one and that led to the EGR valve (not sensor ) and they allowed the car to heat up quicker. It made the car run better when cold and did not reduce Hp. So when ya have problems taking off in a cold car with it stumbling and hesitating ya got the jerk who took them off to thank for thatthat's where the smog pump (AIR pump) pipe used to be. the smog pump "pumped" fresh air into the exhaust to help the cat. converter "clean up" the tail pipe emissions.as long as you don't have a smog test to renew your tags, don't worry about it. if you do it will never pass with out it (by the way it has nothing to do with the EGR system)
