Question:
I have a 99 dodge truck dakota 3.9 v6 and every once in a while when i go to start it, it starts but won't stay idle. i go under the hood and disconect the - negative cable to the battery and i wait a minute, connect the battery terminal and the truck starts and runs fine till the next day or two, then i repeat the process of the removal of the - negative battery cable. No dash lights or check engine lights come on. Its frustrating and becoming a pain. Got any ideas.

If your problem is the engine seems to run on 3 cyl instead of 4 then check the rotor and cap plug wires and the plugs and compressioncap =worn contact
plug wire =worn or broken inside casing
