Is there a definite Ring Gear/Axle Spline on a 1994 Chevy Cheyenne 1500 with a 4.3L engine and a 4L60E trans?
I gave grease junkie his 2nd thumbs up, because that was exactly my reaction. Backing plate must be what was said, or at least what was meant. Backing plate is the correct term for the part. And grease junkie described it's use correctly.
mondeo steering problem?
The only thing I can think of is the backing plate for the brakes. On disk brakes it helps keep the rotor free from road debris and aids in cooling. On drum brakes it is what the brake shoes mount to.
