Ford's firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8With few excpetions, this is the firing order for all Ford V8 engines.
Number one cylinder on the distributor cap varies in location depending on make, model and year though, so make sure you know which tower on the distributor cap is number one.
Since you call it a 5.0 instead of a 302, I'll assume it's a newer truck (somewhere in the '90s or newer), this would put the number one plug on the cap two positions forward of the rear clip moving in a counter clockwise direction.
Also, number one cylinder is the forward most one on the passenger side of the block for Fords.
