I'm looking for a way to get more HP. I need to waste my friend's junky Mustang... He's just getting all in my face about it, but I really don't think I can beat him unless I change something. I'm driving a 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. Any suggestions??

WELLL unless you spend some serious cash you just aren't going to beat him and then if he spends 1/5th of the cash hopping up his Stang that you spend on your Eclipse you still won't beat him. for less than 10K you can start from scratch and build a 7 second mustang. You can put 30K into an ecplise and you" MIGHT!" be in the 10 second range---NOTE emphasis on MIGHT.

Ok here goes... One you are driving an automatic Mitsubishi... i have one... Not an eclipse and in my opinion they are slow as piss! Sorry! If you had an eclipse GSX we would have something to work with... Dont use nitrous your gonna damage the sh*t outta your car that way! I wouldnt personally do it cause I think it is a waste of money but you could do an engine swap (which would be a waste of money) or turbo/supercharge! This is all going to cost you some loot since you want to do it the right way! Mustangs arent necessarly fast Ive beat a few of the old school v-6 models but lets look at the facts here... In most cases you are up against a v8 with your little lawn mower engine... 4 banger if your luck a v6 but I think your year is only a 4! Dont race on the street anyways... it depends on whether his mustang is v6 or v8 if it is v6 then just put a turbo on it or some other performance parts intake headers exhaust exc. if its v8 then i dont know if you can beat it unless you do a complete engine swapthe problem is that you have a GS and not a GSX,i use to own one,i had hks intake, straight pipes and a computer chip,that was enough. when i was half way to the finish line,mustangs were still burning rubber at the starting line. about nitrous,if you are thinking about it you should rebuild the engine and make it proper,if not you could melt the pistons
