pull it out and the should be either a single wire attached to i or two wires. if it is two wires, take the one that IS NOT black or similar color and hook it up to any wire that only gets voltage when the key is on (you'll need a test light which is cheap at auto parts stores to find a hot wire) if it just has 1 wire oing to it, hook that one wire into a wire that has voldage when the key is on. if you want it to be able to work all the time, find a wire that is hot all the time. it doesnt matter what the hot wire goes to, and before you splice any wires, disconnect the battery positive cable after you have found the hot wire.there is 1 wire try and not confuse it with the 1 wire that gets plugged into the rear of the cigarette lighter but use the 1 wire that is removed from the back of the 1 wire lighter you remove ok that may not be too hard look at thwe back and youll see 1 wire

First check the fuse, Second check the two wires that are on the back of the cig. lighter. Finally check power at the wires behind the lighter if power then you need new lighter.need jeep action 2000 cherokee?
Did you put a voltmeter on it and see if it had power ?? could be a bad element, the part that gets hot. They are available at any parts store. Could be a fuse.
