I have a 2001 RX 300. bought it with 48000 miles. My wife and I love it. We have 87000 miles on it with no problems. Toyota recently admitted to an engine problem with the 1999-2001 RX 300. Somehow my engine will create a sludge that clogs the oil ports. Toyota extended the warranty to 8years because of this problem. I've also heard on the Lexus forums that the transmission craps out around 100,000 miles. So I'm taking extra care of my engine and transmission. So far so good! If I had the option I'd get an 2002 and make sure you research the RX to be sure It didn't come from a snowy part of the country.
