i own a repair shop,and i haven't seen but a few rare cases of this,the thing id be checking would be the timing ,or the timing chain or the belt,that will make the computer say all of them are bad ,and make it back fire,its rare,but a bad 0-2 sensor can cause this ,but not usually,timing would be the main cause of this 99% of the time,good luck,i hope this helps.Are mazda 3's more of a male or female car?
Yes possible, but no not all that likely an Oxygen sensor can cause a vehicle to backfire.If an O2 sensor is bad it can send a (lean condition too much air not enough fuel) false reading to the ECU(computer).The computer can compensate by the false voltage reading from the O2 sensor and will increase the pulse width(the length of time the fuel injector injector is open) of the fuel injectors to enrich the air/fuel mixture.The result is a vehicle backfiring through the exhaust because of a now rich(too much fuel)condition.Does Anyone have a 200R4 Trans that Slips?
