Land Rover Defender Gear Box?

I have a 110 Td5 and want to know if I can and if so how much, to put a Disco gear box in, or just the top end and keep the low end as defender? what do you think?

I have a 93 Chevy cavalier. It has about 150,000 miles on it. For the past couple of days, i'll be coming up

The part you need to change is the "transfer box" not the gearbox. Range Rovers and Discoverys had a higher ratio final drive in this box.
Fully recondtioned units are available (and the best bet) for around £300. I would recommend you get it fitted by a garage, its a heavy job.
Look up Ashcroft Transmissions on line (I think in Northampton)
My Def90 has a Range Rover transfer box and "in theory" is geared for 150mph in fifth, but clear aerodynamics overcome even my V8, but 100mph is possible if you are brave enough.
