Question:
A604/41TE transaxle. Going from park to reverse or to drive, car jerks hard. When driving, it upshifts and downshifts hard. Usually only does it a couple times before going into limp mode. Once in a while it slips when trying to go to 2nd. Also, when it is ready to shift, I have to almost completely remove my foot off the gas before it will shift.\\ Thank you\\

I own a transmission shop, and wish I had better news for you but I don't. You will have to replace the transmission or have the one you got rebuilt. Since its a 2000 I would just look for a good low mileage used transmission from a junkyard. You can expect to pay quite a lot for a used one, but if you can get one out of a wrecked vehicle that has low miles on it, 99% of the time, you will get one that is good for 150,000 miles or better. Make sure you get the cooler cleaned out real good when you install the used one, or you will have problems with the new one. I wish I could give you better news, but it has been my experience that; once they start shifting hard, and slipping, you might as well scrap the transmission, because there is no way you will get that one to work right without taking it apart and cleaning it like doing dishes.Glad to help out, Good Luck!
