not sure about the step by step but the best is to go down to a hardware store or a autoparts store and gets some wd-40 or they have some penetrating lube that will in a sense melt some of the rust away and you should be able to get it out if it breaks even with all that you can go to sears and get the extractor set if they still got it it works good.
