Why do people buy gm truck diesels when there is the dodge ram with cummins?

Most people are closed minded and won't look at all their options and they think you are buying american with the chevy but actually they are buy a isuzu when they buy a chevy diesel. If you ever look at large construction equipment they all have large inline 6 engines because they are more reliable and last a lot longer then any V-8. All rigs have a inline 6 in them.

I agree with you the cummins is solid and reliable. The duramax is not bad but in typical GM fashion expect problems to arise around 40,000 miles. Minor stuff but annoying. Fords powerstroke is notorious for mechanical issues.
Dodge did something right they have a solid engine with less mechanical parts built by a reliable maker. Also the cummins is best in class.
But as for why people choose ford or chevy diesel over the dodge cummins. It is a matter of brand loyalty. Some people are diehard believers in the manufacturer they have bought and that won't change easily.
