I own a shop, and have owned a couple of these cars in my day. There really aren't much difference in these two models. The cosmetics of the front, and rear were just a little different on them. The same engines, transmissions, and rear-ends were offered in both of them. The dash was almost the same except for some minor changes. Outside of this, these cars were identical. I own one of each of these, and I did like my 64 a little better, but I can still find many reasons to like my 63 better, so your guess is as good as mine on this one.

On line there are great pictures if the 63 Impala with the little known 427 drag race car that in very limited numbers. It had aluminum fenders and hood with minimal bracket holding the bumper and fenders in place. Guys such as "Dyno" Don Nicholson, Dave Strickler, Wally Bell and Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins dragged these cars in 1963 - 64.
