Brake lights driving be nuts!!?

Question:
ok.. heres the deal. my truck was working fine. one day, i hooked up some trailer lights. the next day my brake lights wouldnt work. i checked the bulbs (both) fuses, and the thing that makes then ground out under the dash. there all ok. what do i do?!?!?!?!?!

i have seen this before, and quite recently also, i would actually remove the switch from the brake lever and jumper across the outlet, it is very possible that the switch contacts just got too hot and either melted the plastic to the point that there is no physical contact between the three conductors, or the moving piece inside the switch, is now contaminated (involuntarily) insulated by burnt material. if this is the case just replace the switch.

check out your brake light switch to make sure that you didn't over heat it all you have to do is take a test light and check the power at the brake light switch to make sure that there is power going in and out.
