We know that the Z06 stock will run at its best 12-12.5 what do you all think it will run in a single cab chevy? I know the Corvette engine is about 15k but WE want a fast truck.

Buy a Used Chevy LS1,2, or 6.Send to a good engine shop. Have them balance the bottom end. Use LS6 Port matched heads to intake/Exhaust. Put in a cam for High RPM.
If using an automatic, use a TH400 with 3000RPM stall speed and 4:56 rear gears. Lift bar or 4 link rear suspension would be best. Most of all ignore fools that drive Porsches.
Those are for rich folks that no little about the fun of going fast on your own sweat. My Vette did 186 at the dry lakes and my roof is fine.

The problem with using just a motor is that the gearing on the truck is not exactaly great for speed... they are meant to pull HEAVY loads, not go 0-60 in 4 seconds... The motor will fit, without any problems, as Chevy trucks have Huge engine bays... but if you are looking for a fast truck and money is no object (obviously), look into a crate motor, something like the GM Performance Parts ZZ502, or someother torque monster. Horsepower doesnt do much in a truck due to the weight, Torque will benefit you so much more.What is the bolt pattern on a 2007 Chevrolet Classic Silverado?

they made a perfromance edition Silverado - The SS. It has a 6.0 LS2 V8 if i'm not mistaken that was good for about 450-500 HP. If you can find a Silverado SS you may be able to swap in a LS7 out of a Z06.More Questions & Answers ...
