Can anyone help me with my 240sx?

Question:
i tried to do the smog check but they wouldnt do it because my 240sx had an sr20det ...so how should i do it to get the smog check w/out having to put a different engine on??

Short of putting the KA back in, there is nothing legal you can do to get it smogged.

Addition - Contrary to what SteveO is saying, changing the cat and running higher octane fuel wont change the fact that your car wont pass visual inspection. Higher octane fuel won't help your emissions either way.
