I vote for an open spark plug lead. Check to make sure that all of the leads are solidly attached to the plugs and the distributor. If that doesn't fix it, take it back to the mechanic.it is also possible he forgot to connect a vacuum line or knocked one off by accident. a vacuum leek will cause a rough idle.
Like everyone else says.. something got knocked off he didn't notice or I've had issues sometimes when I've changed spark plugs but not the plug wires and have the wires become bad from being moved around.
