Question:
I'm am thinking about trading a sbc and trans for a 6.2 crate motor. I am intersted in running bio diesel from now on to try and save myself some cash. I have heard that you genereally can't run it in anything later than 1985. Any help would be appreciated
Has anyone put 20s on a 98-02 Accord coupe?
Thanks

Diesel fuel does not compress as it is a hydraulic liquid fuel. The use of diesel fuel in the internal combustion engine is only efficient when the fuel is atomized by a fuel injection pump and nozzles or fuel injectors. I dont see how pouring raw fuel down the intake manifold is going to help start the engine. If anything it may create a hydraulic lock and then bend rods or crack heads. If the the engine will not start because fuel system has picked up air, and the transfer pump is working properly, crack the high pressure fuel lines at each cylinder and crank the engine. When the air is purged the cylinders will start firing. Snug the fittings down when the engine starts to pick up. The 6.2 is a great engine for what it was designed to do. They get great fuel economy and they are very reliable. They are not a dragster or tractor puller, but they are extremely dependable.Whats faster a f1 car or a nascar?
Technically yes. In actuality it dissolves older membranes used in fuel pumps, gaskets, fuel lines...That's why the age of the vehicle is important.
It also dissolves sludge which will clog the fuel filter.
How do I adjust the timing? It's on a sandrail(vw); 2276 cc; dual holley 44's; electronic ignition.
Well I wouldn't! It makes hungry dogs chase you everywhere. And it doesn't make the air smell any better either. Ruins engine parts, too. There is more expence than just changing engines to the job. Some state, Indiana maybe, that is trying to make an old man pay a special fuel tax for using his homemade just for him by him bio-diesel fuel.most manufactures out hear like Detroit Cummings and cat are saying in the older motors the do not like to see you run a B100 of bio diesel but a 10 to 20% percent blend is fine and will not heart the motor a B10 or 20% percent will clean your gas tank and thing like that so you will have to change your fuel filters until you get the dirt out but should be fine after that.
