The mechanism is either jambed, the window motor is burnt out, or there's a problem with the electrical switching. You don't know enough to fix it, unless you're experienced in electro-mechanical devices. Take it to your mechanic.Anyone know what the biggest engine i could put in a 1997 toyota celica is? i wana v6.?
I've never worked on a Honda, but most power window systems are very simple. It's a small electric motor with either a strong plastic strap or a fretted rod that meshes with a gear inside the motor. If you can hear the motor when you press the window switch, the rod is probably broken. Most of these assemblies are one piece and cost around 100 dollars. You can save a lot of money replacing it yourself. Take the door panel off and check out the mechanism. It's not that complicated. Can anyone answer any questions about truck performance accessories retailers in Houston TX?
The last time I had this problem it was the contacts had corroded on the driver's side switch. I took it apart and cleaned it, but they were not made to come apart so you might want to get a new one. If that's the problemFirst of all, check to see if when you push the button you can hear a slight buzzing sound inside the door panel (the same sound as for the other window).
If you can hear it, it's the mechanism or the window itself jammed with dirt or broken. Dismantle the door panel and check it out.
If no sound can be heard, then check the fuse box first. You might have a burnt fuse and if the fuxe is OK, then check the electric switch.
If that's OK too, then it must be a burnt out motor.
If you're not experienced in mechanics and electrical repairs I'd suggest going to your garagist.
Best of luck!
