Question:
Hi
Can anyone please tell me if buying a used Renault scenic 1.6 automatic is wise ?
I have no idea about these cars?
Are they stable on the road ?
And what about the maintenance(and repairs...) cost?
I found them a bit cheaper.
Can someone repliy please?
Thanks

How much is a Diesel Honda CRV new?
I've had one for 7 years now, but it is manual. The good bits:
The scenic itself is roomy & easy to drive. Quite a lively engine (although the Auto will be more sluggish) for such a large car. Lots of staorage space, nooks & crannies under the floor etc. On the whole, cheap to run & maintain (but see below). Great view of the road ahead for the driver, and to the side over hedges etc for passengers. Super family car.
The bad bits:
The main problem is cornering - you just have to take it easy! It's a bit like the old 2CV - remember those? They used to go over to about 45 degrees round rondabouts! Not quite as bad, but if you break going into a sharp bend the car feels very unstable. Not a driver's car! Electrics and linkages (especially the sunroof & electric window) VERY expensive to replace - the driver's window stuck & it cost £250 to repair! Other parts seem ok.

Two of our children drive manual Scenics, one petrol, one diesel, they are very pleased with them. Don't but ANY Renault, new or used. Expensive for parts & customer services don't want to know if you have problems. Go to the BBC Watchdog website then make up your own mind...!More Questions & Answers ...
