I have a88 chevy 4x4 350 eng when i crank eng after sitting over night it misses back fires smell raw gas?

ignore the choke answer.your truck doesn't have a choke...it's fuel injected.most likely you have a fuel injector that's sticking open a bit. It will be easy to see, just take a peek down your throttle bores right after you shut down the engine. The injectors are right on top. If one is sticking, you will see droplets of fuel falling from one or both of them. It backfires, cuz your engine is struggling to burn up the extra fuel,and some of it gets into the exhaust, where it heats up, and burns all at once (boom), thus also why you are smelling raw gas. I had my 88 toss the tailpipes off the back of her from that same problem.
