there is too much to change over-- first It has to be a 3/4 or 1 ton. front springs, alternator, dual batteries, air filter assembly, fuel tank and sender, torque converter, exhaust system, radiator,shroud, fan, charge air cooler, rebuild or replace the transmission,change out the drive shaft and carrier bearing,change out the rear end ratio, engine mounts,starter, grid heater relays,change over brake booster system, and dash card w/ harness.----you would have about $8k-12K besides the cost of the engine. not worth the project costs.TAPShift on a 2004 Grand Prix GTP?

It can probably be done, but the tranny's the least of your problems. You'd have to change out the computer, the entire cab electrical system, the entire fuel system, dash cluster, radiator & the front coil springs.In short, you're better off finding another truck that already has the Diesel in it.

The whole fuel system has to be changed over, the gas transmission will not hold up to the torque of the diesel so that goes too. Motor mounts need to be made or purchased, which brings to mind the question of the frame strength on a diesel vs a gasoline truck.
