Question:
I have a 2001 VW Jetta VR6 with Automatic Transmission. When I am driving, it will start off ok in first gear. Then when upshifting from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th, there is a small transition through neutral. During this time, the engine will Rev up a few hundred RPM and the car will jump into the next gear. Often it might cause a *thud* or Jerk when jumping/shifting up.
Changing Timing Belt on 98 CR-V B20B4 motor?
This usually happens when cold ... usually mornings. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what did you apply as a solution? What did it cost you?
I am the second owner of the car and the car has done 57000 miles. I believe the VW warrenty is only 5yr/50k for second owners.
I have a 1983 cj7 with 5spd and dana 300. which is the best method/gear selection for flat towing?
The dealer told me it is a TCM (Transmission Control Module) issue. I am not convinced.
Answers:
Quite unusual on a vw... You have leaking internal clutch seal(s), and the only option is an overhaul which is quite expensive - $2000 or so, maybe more if there is damage to hard parts. Everything on these cars is unreasonably expensive as you probably already know.
Any opinions on an isuzu trooper?? what about a hyundai sonota?
honostly i wouldnt be able to tell you a 100% if the dealer is trying to pull a fast one or not but i have heard of people having problems REGARDING WHINING NOISE FROM AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FROM APPROX. 37 TO 42 MPH but shifting slip could be many things such as trans filter and flush and other things but with as little miles as you have on it...then its possible to limit some of those...i would take it somewhere else and get a second opinion because i worked for a dealership before and ill be honost we're trained to pad the bills you come in for a brake service we'll go back to you with brake service and tirerod ends and now you need an alligment...dealerships are great for recalls and when you cant get the work done anywhere else! take it to a local shop that you know and trust get a second opinion before listening to a dealership! good luck! the vr6 has some power you should have got the stick! later!More Questions & Answers ...
