Excellent power (it takes off with only 4 cylenders, to 80 in 15) good interior design-fold down rear seats, tilt, cruise, etc,) but ignition went out, and that burned out CC, and now the ignition key switch on wheel column locks and I have to restart to remove key. Anybody had similar. Buy American!

Look at your problem. Do you want this to happen to you while your Driving also? Not me!
Something is wrong in this area in the steering colum and or lack of parts to prevent this. If it is a Lack of parts then this is a Engineering flaw.

This problem sounds like some parts are not aligned up properly or somthing is proken where you not hearing or feeling the problem.

You can pull up all the comments about the Colbalt on you computer and read about the troubles and problems with GM ability to make repairs; maybe, you can get some ideas on how you can make the repairs; because, according to some of the people to purchase the vehicle can not bet Chevy to repair it correctly without having the vehicle in the shop for a few days and still not get the repairs done the first time.
