Question:
Would it be a better idea to get a wrx and then buy mods or to get the sti. Thinking of the insurance in mind.

STi has the following over the WRX:
Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) All-Wheel Drive
293 HP @ 6,000 rpm / 290 lb.-ft. @ 4,400 rpm
High-Intensity Discharge (HID) halogen headlight
Moonroof
Rear spoiler

The WRX is about another 70 HP which is a combination of engine modifications and exhaust changes. It also has different wheels, tires, brakes and styling. As far as insurance goes, the STI will kill you. I would advise getting the WRX TR that's new for this year and doing some engine mods. Plus, it doesn't scream "LOOK AT ME! I'M REALLY FAST!"

A WRX STI is just a WRX that is tuned by STI, it is quite a bit faster and more agressive looking, but still follows the rally rules of having a 2.0 liter engine maximum.
