How do i fit a parking sensor to an e39 bmw 520 on rear bumper?

do i have to remove bumper, if so is it something i should tackle myself ?

if i were u i wouldnt put the sensor on the bumper,i would put it a little higher than the license plate because if u put it on the bumper someone might hit it or even steal it.
