Can anyone give me a cost on how much it would be to replace all the valve guide seals on a 2000 ford E-250 cargo van 5.4 triton engine and about how long it would take a good mechanic to do the job. thanks

the whole top of the engine has to come off.usually about $75-$100 dollars an hours for labor.the seals are easy to replace.you might as well have the whole top end done...seals...have the valves ground...while the "head" is already off. you will have to replace the headgasket as well cost you less in the long run.good luck

You are talking some serious cash... can't ive a cost right off hand but a good 8 hours for the engine to be pulled in my opinion, and depends if people have the right tools to do it on the stand or take the heads off... Usually it's smarter to have the heads off and you are probably looking at a good another 5-6 for sure...
