I use the yukon as a work vehicle and there are times that I can not afford to have the headlamps on (nightime doing surveilance). I am trying to see if there is a way to turn the sensor off so they only come on when I activate them through the headlamp switch.

I know that on my vehicles with this feature, if you flip the light dial to the left it turns off the lights. Check your owner's manual, it may describe something similar. If not, I would expect you should be able to find a shop that can provide a by pass for the sensor.Jeep Liberty..........................
that vehicle is designed with daytime running lights, there is no way to disable this feature with out affecting something else on the vehicle , sorryIt only works while parked but you can turn the car off, put the parking brake on and then restart the car, the lights will stay off until you turn the parking brake off then they come back on, so like I said it only works while the car isn't in motion, but for surveilence it may just be what you needed.

on certain gm models you can push the e-brake pedal down 2 clicks which will turn running lights off how ever the brake lamp on the dash will light up.. other models there is a running lamp module either on the drivers kickpanel or under dash that can be unplugged.When did the rx7 start having airbags?
when you park, set the emergency brake and the lights will go out. only way I have seen the Chevy's able to get around this.The photo cell is located on your dash right below the windshield, it will have a tiny little grill over it, remove the dash and locate it underneath the dash and unplug it, you will still have daytime running lights, just replace the dual element bulbs with single element bulbs and go without the daytime running lights, or im sure there is a fuse you can remove for DTRL
