If you are going to go with this, go with the 04 6MT. Make sure all recalls are up to date (there have been several, oil injectors and PCM reprogramming the most important of all) and see if the powertrain warranty was extended... for most 03 and 04, it was due to a misrepresentation of horsepower and such.

The car is a blast... high maintenance to some (not me, but I am crazy) and please make sure you read your manual.. some very important points on how to keep the engine running as it should. It is prone to flooding, make sure you treat it right. Flooding in the RENESIS isnt like in any other car... it involves a tow to the dealer and several hundred dollars after that *wink*.

Nice choice as far as the RX8! I'd go with the 6-speed manuel. Best gearing and most control means the most fun to drive!
6MT is the best choice. more gears means you always stay in the sweet spot for a very enjoyable driving experience. go with that.

After test driving both the 6sp mt and 4sp AT go with the 6sp Manual transmission. The 6sp auto is only available on the 06 and up models and there is no 5sp MT. You shouldn't buy a 2003, they have more problems with engine flooding and other problems, i have a 2006 6MT, the 2003 version does not have 6speed auto or 6MT, it only comes in 4 speed auto or 5 speed manual im pretty sure. 6 speed manual is definitely best choice, it is fastest and most powerful and has least problemsMore Questions & Answers ...
