it heats up too quickly, ive already changed the thermostat, and the temp. sensor, and the cooling fan works fine .it doesnt heat up as quickly, but it still heats way too much , eventually. its a dodge neon 98'. and i just bought a new radiator cap, what else can be the prob.?

Check between the radiator and the A/C condensor (looks like a smaller radiator in front of the radiator) and make sure there's no leaves and gunk built up in there blocking the air flow.If that's all clean, then I have to agree with most likely head gasket gone bad.

I think that the problem is the water pump... have that checked out!Most likely a head gasket. Most newer neons 97 and up have head gasket problems notoriously, most the time around 80k miles. Check up on it.

well, you could try getting ceramic coated headers. the stock cast iron is bad about holding heat. new headers could also give you a couple extra ponys.More Questions & Answers ...
