Ever own a 1964 300-K ?

Question:
How about the Silver Edition 300-K , anybody out there?

Answers:

Where mercedes manufactur there Car in?

Talk about esoteric! As a matter of fact I may have owned a Silver Edition 1964 Chrysler 300-K. However, that said, it was factory painted maroon. It did however have the unique black half-vinyl roof with the attendant bright stainless steel trim. It was a beautiful car. As the stories go, the dealer may have substituted maroon for silver when ordering a Silver Edition or the dealer may have just ordered the vinyl top separately once the special order codes were available. I bought the K in 1978 and kept it for about three years. It was not particularly well optioned - no A/C, no SureGrip, AM radio, manual windows, etc. It came with the standard 360hp 413cid engine and automatic transmission. The car needed complete steering and brake rebuild, a paint job and the front seats recovered. With the maroon paint (I cannot remember the actual factory color), the bright trim and the vinyl top, it was a beautiful car. If it had more options, I would probably would still have it today.
