I test drove the RDX yesterday and while I wasn't as impressed about the exterior, the interior completely floored me! Everything is voice activated! You can give commands to the Navigation System, the a/c, the phone, etc! On the other hand, the BMW X3's exterior is so sleek and so BMW! I love the way it's so zippy and agile! But when you sit inside, it looks so BLAND. I know it's supposed to appeal more to the sports car driver but for that amt of money... shouldn't it have SOME sort of extras? Any comments/suggestions?

What you choose ought to be what 'grabs' you the most. As you said, if the interior is it, then it sounds as if you've already made your choice.
However, if prestige or ultimate handling is a priority, then the scale tips in favor of the Beemer.

...and going the other way...if dollar value, reliability, and the lowest cost of ownership is important, then the Acura is a sure bet. And though the RDX is no slouch of a machine, BMWs truly are among the 'Ultimate Driving Machines'. The problem is they're also among the ultimate money pits...poor reliability & overpriced to service. One has to credit Honda (Acura's manufacturer) with building vehicles that are successful in appealing across a broad spectrum of buyer wants.
BTW, it's a good bet that next year's RDX will offer Honda's new Advanced VTEC, a technology trumping touted BMW's VANOS system. Honda's latest iteration of their famous Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control will add HP while substantially increasing fuel economy...all from a more elegently engineered approach than BMW's.

Go with the RDX, its a better car in the long run and cheaper to maintain.dunno what your budget it but might want to look at the Volvo xc90..

The X3 doesnt have all the bells and whistles showing because its all internal. Bmmers do have voice commands (last time I checked it was 5 printed pages of what you could tell the car to do). Most of the bells and whisltes are in the I-Drive so you dont have so many buttons looking at you.What is the current price for 53 plate mercedes-benz, 1.8cc kompressor?
As for cost of ownership, check out Edmounds and look up cost of ownership for the two. BMW, other then monthly payments, gas and tires should have none if your buying it new.
