In my 2007 civic the compressor and aux. fan cycles on/off when I turn the blower on even with ac off.?

Question:
Is this normal? I find this unusual and thought that it is a waste of gas. Turning the ac on did not make any difference. The dealer said they will get back to me. I'm almost tempted to pop the ac relay off to shut it for the winter. I get annoyed by the sound of the aux. fan going on/off specially if i don't need the ac this season.

What is my 1986 Toyota Corolla Sr5 Hatchback worth?

you may not realize this but when you use the defroster the a/c cycles. but you can unplug the compressor to prevent the use of this during the winter..And yes your car will burn extra gas... the aux. fan only comes on when the a/c of defrost is in use, or when the primary cooling fan can not cool the radiator down ..but be warned that if for some reason you primary fan should not work, then you have no back up if you disconnect the aux cooling fan...

I'm having some problems with my 91 Honda Accord....see details...thank you!?

it's made to do that to keep the a\c compressor lubed

How do you like the Ronaele Mustang?

This is normal, most car manufactures started this about 1990,the reason behind it,in theory anyway is the window will defrost and defog much faster if it starts out with cold air and gradually blends to warm then hot, hope this helps
